WEATHERFORD

Historic Weatherford is located just 26 miles west of Ft. Worth on I-20. Weatherford offers the visitor a unique experience with a nostalgic driving tour through tree-lined lanes boasting a wealth of Victorian and turn-of-the-century homes. The historic downtown area features antique and specialty shops housed in restored buildings.

There is a new Town Creek Hike and Bike Trail that runs parallel to Santa Fe Dr. and extends for 3.6 miles. Annual events include the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo held in June, the Parker County Peach Festival and Peach Pedal Bike Ride on the Second Saturday in July and Candlelight Tour of Homes, Christmas on the Square and Christmas Parade, all held in December. First Monday Trade Days held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday preceding the first Monday of each month!

NORTHWEST

BRIDGEPORT

Located just 35 miles northwest of Fort Worth, at the crossroads of US 380 and SH 114, Bridgeport is a great location to get away from it all. The city was named in 1860, when a bridge was built over the Trinity River to accommodate the Butterfield Stage overland mail route. The town continued to flourish in industry with is vast amounts of earthen treasures – coal, oil, gas and limestone.

Today, visitors can enjoy excellent golf, boating and fishing on Lake Bridgeport and great shopping in our historic downtown.

Designated as a Main Street city in 2007, downtown Bridgeport has a lively mix of gift shop retail, personal service industry, old-fashioned practical merchandise adn Bridgeport Heritage Museum. With so much to do in Downtown Bridgeport you will never be bored!

Bridgeport also offers great family events such as the Butterfield Stage Days Festival and PRCA Rodeo , Coal Miner’s Heritage Festival, Suit Up and Say Boo Trick or Treat Parade in Historic Downtown, and Home for the Holidays Events and Christmas Parade as well as has a theater for events and shows.

CHISHOLM TRAIL DAYS, DECATUR

DECATUR

Located at the junction of US Highway 81/287 and Highway 380, in the center of Wise County, Decatur is just 45 minutes from the DFW Metroplex. Small town atmosphere and big city advantages are just two of the reasons locals stay and new arrivals never want to leave.

Step back in time with a visit to historic Downtown Decatur and see the beautiful James Riley Gordon, 1896 Wise County Courthouse. A Texas Main Street city since 1994, Decatur enjoys a wonderful mix of antique shops, restaurants and personal services in the heart of downtown. The newly opened Decatur Visitors Center, located in the historic 1939, WPA Post Office building is just one block from the square.

While you’re in town you won’t want to miss the Wise County Heritage Museum and Lost Battalion Room, the Wise County Veterans Park and other historic sites.

Annual events include: Cruise Nights on the Courthouse Square, Chisholm Trail Days western heritage festival, Girls Night Out- every Thursday evening, Painting Downtown Pink and the Moonlight Madness Christmas Parade and event.
