Gainesville is “The Front Porch to Texas”! In Gainesville there is something for everyone. Home of the World Renowned Frank Buck Zoo. The Zoo has many exciting exhibits and daily giraffe feedings and is centered in Leonard Park, featuring a community playground, park pavilion, pool and train rides throughout the park. One of the largest collection of Victorian homes and architecture in North Texas is nestled in the South Gainesville Historic District. Enjoy a selection of tea rooms, hometown diners, restaurants and the famous Fried Pie Co. while you walk the square. See the Santa Fe Depot Museum while you visit via the Amtrak Heartland Flyer. Enjoy local entertainment with a live production at the Butterfield Stage Playhouse, a former Carnegie Library, or at the beautifully restored State Theater. Just a few miles north enjoy the Winstar World Casino.
