This program will provide SCAS with the ability to accurately predict capital expenditures and FAA funding requirements to maintain its pavements and keep airplanes landing at Sacramento International Airport. And these efforts are just a few of the two firms’ projects. Work is currently underway on numerous other airport projects within the state of California. The two firms are providing such services as construction management, program management and design and construction management on an on-call basis (see map on page 5). “Our record of services at all of these airports clearly illustrates how DMJM Harris, DMJM Aviation and our sister companies within the AECOM family of firms are excelling in their efforts to help expand the airports in California,” says Ulukaya. “I’d like to think Lindbergh would be proud.” L new project is topping the list of DMJM Aviation’s California airport efforts; the firm was recently awarded a one-year, $25-million, phase 1 contract to provide program management services supporting the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The development program will include the Midfield Satellite Concourse, new large aircraft gates at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, related projects such as taxiways, tunnels, aircraft ramp areas, utility improvements and other infrastructure repair and replacement projects that must be performed to enable construction of these projects to begin. The contract also calls for DMJM Aviation, as part of AECOM’s Aviation practice, to mobilize a delivery team to advance these projects while developing a more comprehensive understanding of the overall CIP, which includes LAX projects estimated between $5 billion and $8 billion over the next 10 years. Once the CIP is further defined, Los Angeles World Airports may, with Los Angeles City Council approval, extend the contract term to continue program management services over a six-year period.
