Here’s a recap from recent events: February: Chinese New Year Art: sarah cotten’s Bighead Puppet Baby, 5’ high metal flowers Fashion: Kimono obis, ear muffs Diversions: the Brambleberries, a Paper-Lantern workshop Notable event: the aerialist Flame Fatale, riding atop a hooded stiltwalker in a black catsuit. April: Wake for Picasso Art: skewed figures in vibrant color or in clouds of cigarette smoke Fashion: construction paper masks made at the workshop, formal suits Diversions: al Foul, the Potato Family circus Notable event: an explosion of cubism May: Cinco de Mayo Art: who cares? Everyone’s wasted! Fashion: cheap crowns, cleavage Diversions: Mariachis, drums and cowbells Notable event: a staged Mayan sacrifice drew real blood—and it smelled like whiskey June: Kiddie Pool Cabaret Photos by the Sculpture Resource Center.
