* What a practical solution. This
cooktop combines maintenance,
ease of use/clean-up and a safer
proposition for residents, particularly
those with unsteady hands and
dementia. This innovation offers
the prospect of a better quality
of life for residents, giving them
access to cooking safely.
* The continued evolution of the
induction cooktop is great - definitely
becoming more user friendly for
elders as well as aesthetically
pleasing.
* The silicone mat is a great addition
for the induction cooktop. I can see
this as a benefit in all levels of care in
senior living.

Conventional radiant cooktops generate heat via a resistant electric coil and
transmit the heat through the glass and
into the pan. The surface gets hot and is
a hazard for seniors.
The Kenyon SilKEN™ 2 Induction
cooking system is a patent pending,
high-energy, induction cooking system.
It is ideally suited for senior living as it
does not generate cooktop surface heat,
and features built-in automatic shut-off;
in addition to innovative, user-friendly
cooking performance enhancements as
IntelliKEN Touch Control™, Precision
Control (PC), Direct Temperature
Feedback (DTF), Cooktop LockOut, and Load Sharing for maximum
operational efficiency.
The Kenyon SilKEN™ 2 Induction
cooking system also features a patented
silicone mat that covers the entire
cooktop and provides convenience
with easy clean-up (simply place the
SilKEN™ mat in the dishwasher or
sink), and enhanced safety features such
as pot and spill retention and quick
heat dissipation, plus glass top surface
protection.
As the population demographic
is shifting and today's seniors are
technologically adept, many still want
to enjoy cooking for themselves and
others. The SilKEN™ 2 induction
cooking system was developed to
advance induction cooking for senior
living for user enjoyment, safety and
energy efficiency.
