NEWS FROM THE COLLEGE Members in the News our ACEP members received the American Medical Association Foundation’s 2008 Leadership Awards. The AMA Foundation honored 56 individuals with the award this year, recognizing the physicians for demonstrating outstanding nonclinical leadership skills in advocacy, community service, and education. Dr. Melissa W. Costello, an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala., is medical director for the regional air medical program in Mobile, works with the FBI SWAT team and with the Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Medical Assistance Team. Dr. Shannon M. Stinson, is a third-year emergency medicine resident at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. She plans to pursue a career that integrates health care policy, public education, and medical management. Dr. Edbert Hsu, is an emergency F medicine faculty member at Johns Hopkins University in Clarksville, Md., where he also serves on the leadership group of the Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response. He is a co-investigator with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center for the Study of Preparedness and Catastrophic Event Response. Dr. Gregory L. Roslund, is an emergency physician at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Ind., and serves on the executive board of Imerman Angels, a oneon-one cancer support service.
