St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, has an annual patient volume of 14,000. The shifts are 12 or 24 hrs. Trauma Capabilities and Resources: St. Anthony is a designated Level III trauma hospital. Patients that require Level I treatment are stabilized and transferred to Emanuel, OHSU, or Harborview. Admission Rate: 25-30% Physical Description of ED: Two trauma rooms and four general exam rooms. Each room has one bed. Availability of Ancillary Services: Radiology – CT available on site. MRI available at St. Anthony’s on site. Radiologist available in-house from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday; on call other hours. Techs in-house 6:00 AM to Midnight, Monday through Friday; 6:00 AM Saturday – 10:00PM Sunday. Techs on call 10:00PM Sunday to 6:00AM Monday. Digital X-Ray used. Pharmacy – Available in-house from 7:00AM to 10:00PM, 5 days per week; and 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Nursing Supervisor provides access to pharmacy during other hours. Lab – Techs in-house 24 hours per day, Monday through Friday; 6:30AM to 10:30PM on Saturday and Sunday; on call 10:30PM to 6:30AM Saturday and Sunday. Respiratory Therapy – In-house 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; on call during other hours. Nursing staff can draw ABGs, do EKGs and give respiratory treatments. Oximetry available to the ED. Nursing Support: There is RN support in the ED at all times. All of the ED nursing staff is ACLS and TNCC certified. Brief Description of Community: St. Anthony Hospital has a service area of over 60,000 people including the town of Pendleton with a population of 17,000. The economic base of the area consists of agriculture, lumber, Pendleton Woolen Mills, and leather goods. The area is close to some of the Northwest’s best sites for fishing, camping and hunting. Pendleton is also less than a day’s drive to Sun Valley, Idaho. Professionalism Full Time Staff Opportunity available at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, Washington. The annual patient volume is 25,000 visits with an average of 60 to 70 patients per day and a mix of moderate to high acuity with 36 hours of EM coverage a day. The Emergency Department has 11 beds with a Trauma Bay, Cardiac room, ENT room, and two OB/GYN rooms. The physicians use the T-system paper template with dictation as back up. Trauma call is shared with a local hospital on a Surgeon call rotation. The Trauma Team is led by a Trauma Surgeon and includes an anesthesiologist who is responsible for airway management. Subspecialty is fairly complete with exceptions of Ophthalmology and partial neurology coverage. Ancillary services include: Radiology with In house radiologist, CT, Ultrasound, and MRI with 24 hour availability. Also available, Pharmacy, Lab, and Respiratory Therapy. Requirements: Requirements: Primary Care residency trained and boarded with minimum of three- five years of Emergency medicine experience and life support certificates or ABEM Boarded.
