S22 Getting the Art Right for Screen Printing
Room 102A
8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Dane Clement, Great Dane Graphics
Introductory
When creating artwork to be screen printed, whether it's vector
artwork or raster artwork, setting it up properly from the beginning
will save you time and money in the end by making the final
production process run a lot smoother. Dane Clement will discuss
all aspects of the artwork process from beginning to end that will
help your final production run more efficiently and achieve greater
printed results. He will discuss the differences between vector
artwork and raster artwork, and will show you how to create designs
of both types using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, which
users of CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT can apply as well.
He'll discuss the importance of setting up your artwork properly
initially and how to do it so that when you are ready to print your
separations and go to press the process will be smoother and
more efficient. He'll show you how to optimize your final artwork or
artwork provided to you by a customer to help get cleaner, more
vivid prints in the end. Knowing the various aspects of the preproduction process will help you create separations that will align
quicker and easier, and acquire cleaner, sharper prints. Types of
registration, line screen, screen angles...he'll discuss all of this and
more. Learn how to create a template you can use over and over
again to print out your separations and get them to line up quickly
and efficiently on press. Once you've got the basics, you'll learn
some other special tips and tricks to create dynamic, cost effective
designs in one, two or three colors. Learn all you need to know from
beginning to end to help everything come together on press quicker
and easier and save you time and money.
In this Seminar, you will learn:
* The difference between vector artwork and raster artwork
and how to properly start and create both types so when
you go to press the production process will run smoother
and you'll get better printed results
* How to create a template for printing out your separations
and all the aspects of the pre-production process such as
separations, halftone screens and more
* Ways to take a full-color design and turn it into a one-,
two- or three-color printed design

In this Seminar, you will learn:
* Designing and separating for four-color process printing
* Mesh and screen selection
* Printing procedures
