Get Connected - Fall 2007 - (Page 3) FROM THE PRESIDENT It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Fall edition of Get Connected, the ENA network community journal. This journal was created for you, our customers. Customers expressed a need to share information across education communities and to stay informed on key educational initiatives. This journal is our contribution to the professional education community we serve. I hope you find it useful. administrative requirements. This educationspecific focus allows ENA to understand the challenges schools face with student information systems, distance learning systems, assessment tools and classroom technology implementation. We understand the unique challenges of the education market and remain steadfast in our dedication to helping districts develop solutions that move students and schools toward 21st century success. Finally, customers reinforced the need to have strong and secure communication and productivity tools such as VoIP, e-mail archiving and disaster-recovery solutions. I understand the important roles these items play in assisting schools to achieve their goals. A robust, state-of-the-art VoIP system known as ENA Connect and ENA Dialtone Connect is already part of ENA’s solution suite, and both e-mail archiving and disaster recovery are currently on ENA’s product roadmaps—so it was good to hear that we are on the right track. Right now ENA is beta testing an e-mail archiving solution in several Tennessee and Indiana school districts. The solution will be broadly available by mid-December. Furthermore, our research and development team is working on a disaster-recovery solution that will meet school districts’ needs and budget requirements. ENA is zealously committed to putting powerful communication technology in the hands of educators and administrators that fosters both learning and safety in our classrooms. Thank you for allowing us to serve you. ENA’s vision is to delight every customer by delivering unmatched service and support. We will continue working hard to provide you with reliable, cost-effective network solutions so that you can concentrate on what really matters: student success. We hope you are having an excellent school year, and we send our very best wishes for happy and healthy holidays! —David Pierce A Passion for Education, A Dedication to Service During the Fall season, I have had the privilege of meeting with over 30 superintendents and technology staff people. My customer interactions are always so rewarding and informative, and this past month of customer conversations was no different. One of the most encouraging discussion points throughout these meetings was the repeated compliments regarding ENA staff. I know ENA has a great team of people; in fact, a critical distinction between ENA and other service providers is the passion, dedication and expertise of every member of our staff. When we recruit employees, we don’t just evaluate skill level, we place a heavy emphasis on passion for the education market and dedication to providing excellent service. Outstanding, knowledgeable and dedicated people are at the core of the value ENA has delivered to the education community for over a decade. Another critically important item that came up in almost every discussion was the essential need to have robust, reliable connectivity if we are to help students achieve 21st century education outcomes. ENA’s business focus is on serving children and educators, and we possess an uncommon understanding of how a network supports academic and David Pierce President & CEO, ENA 3
