The Raptor is the U.S. Air Force’s newest fighter plane. Designed to succeed the F-15 and other current-generation aircraft, the F-22 boasts cutting-edge stealth, avionics, weapons and propulsion technology — as well as a hefty $160 million price tag. In simulated dogfights conducted in 2006 against current fighters, the F-22 scored an incredible record of 108 wins to zero losses. There are currently 91 F-22 fighters in operation, which can fly at speeds in excess of Mach 2 — more than 1,300 mph. j 11 http://www.govtech.com
