ERM Annual Review 2008 - (Page 16) Procter & Gamble Implementing a turn-key project to remediate a site under challenging circumstances ahead of sale. Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) Pharmaceutical Division decided to close and sell a synthesis and manufacturing site in Longjumeau, 11 miles south of Paris. Before this transaction could take place ERM Remediation & Construction Management implemented a project to remove asbestos, demolish and decommission the plant, and remediate contaminated soil. Excavation work was particularly challenging due to poor access, an awkward site configuration and the proximity of residential houses. Despite these factors, the remediation was completed safely, under budget and regulatory sign-off was achieved ahead of time, facilitating the sale.
