Supporting LNG Development and Expansion Providing a suite of EHS and risk services to LNG clients around the world as they face changing industry conditions. Fossil fuel shortages and soaring demand for electricity in emerging markets have created a huge demand for the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sector to provide new developments and increase the capacity of existing facilities. Such growth, however brings with it a range of environmental, health and safety and risk issues. These commonly include meeting local legislative requirements as well as managing stakeholder expectations as demand drives developments into more environmentally and culturally sensitive areas. In response to growing activity in the LNG sector, ERM has been supporting clients in many major projects worldwide. We conducted a quantitative risk assessment to support Shannon LNG’s planning application to the Irish Planning Authority, An Bord Pelanála. In the US we provided site assessment and remediation services including geology, seismology and geotechnical engineering, as well as permitting support for the development of an LNG terminal on a brownfield site for Weaver’s Cove Energy LLC. For the proposed Hong Kong LNG Terminal we carried out environmental impact and risk assessments to help guide Castle Peak Power Company Limited (CAPCO) through a demanding permitting process.
