The firm, originally established in 1927, took on a multicultural flavor when CEO and chairman of the board of directors, Henry R. Muñoz, bought a majority interest in 1991. Under his leadership, the company embraced a design emphasis that reflects San Antonio’s multicultural heritage, incorporating mestizo realism with German, Spanish and Irish influences.
