As a ski racer and long time cross country skier, I have skied in a lot of places, and I can honestly say that few of them can compare to Fairbanks. We have multiple trail systems that are beautifully maintained and groomed, ski programs and lessons for all ages, a professionally run town race virtually every weekend, and an unbelievably supportive and energetic ski community. Combine that with the fact that Fairbanks has snow for 6-plus months of the year, and you end up with a cross country skier’s winter wonderland. It’s so great to ski and live in a place where there are so many others who are just as excited about winter, snow, and skiing as I am!” Ingrid Olson, ski coach 16 Paul McCarthy UAF Photo by Heather Taggard Nicholas Jacobs/FCVB
