Fairfield Fairfield Booms All roads lead to Fairfield, or at least they do if you have business with Solano County, for this is the county seat. It is also a busy shopping hub, a business and industrial center and it is a mecca for multicultural dining. In the midst of booming economic activity, Fairfield also offers a comprehensive system of parks and playgrounds of all types. The Fairfield Center for Creative Arts, which brings world-renowned performers to downtown, is but one of the area’s many cultural and entertainment venues. The city also operates City Hall at the Mall, a customer service center located in the sprawling and newly renovated Westfield Solano Mall. The center is open during normal shopping hours, making it a convenient place to obtain information about the city, and purchase transit passes and tickets to Fairfield Center for Creative Arts events. It is also easily accessible by public transportation. As Fairfield continues to move forward with innovative and insightful ideas, it still honors the foundation laid by its early settlers more than a century and a half ago, as is evidenced by the lovingly restored homes on quiet side streets, and the attention to detail here and there. Reminders that, while the city may be moving forward at an amazing pace, it has not forgotten its past.
