Arizona Ski Council Clubs
are very Active!!!
The Arizona Ski Council
(ASC) represents six clubs with
members primarily in the Phoenix metro-area, with membership
open to non-profit ski clubs in
the state of Arizona. Our clubs
serve skiers, snowboarders and
social members.
Seven members from the
Arizona Ski Council attended the
FWSA Convention in Boise, ID.
Arleigh Meiners of the Phoenix
Ski Club received the Hans
Georg Award at the Convention.
The Arizona Ski Council
had their election of Officers at
their April Board Meeting. Results of that election are: President - Arleigh Meiners; Vice
President - Wanda Himler; Treasurer - Dodi Bailey; Race Coordinator - Bill Behnke; and Past President - Judy Upton. Linda Westlund
represents the SS&SC. Mike Miller
represents AHTC. Glenn Pyle represents Boeing Employee Adventure Club. Gary Giertz represents
Partytime Sports and Mike Rogers
represents the Sailing Adventure
Club. The ASC hosts weekly
Happy Hours during the hot
summer months for all the clubs
to participate in.
The Phoenix Ski Club, (PSC),
has their 2017-2018 ski trip
schedule on their website. PSC is
going to Park City, Utah in December, 2017. This is a ski college
package that the club does on an
annual basis. They're also planning a ski trip to Purgatory, Colorado during the 2018 New Year's
Holiday, then off to Telluride, Colorado in January for ARIZONA
DAYS. In February, a trip to Sunrise Ski Resort (in Arizona) on
President's Day Weekend for a
family ski trip is planned. In
March, the club is organizing an
exciting trip to Mt. Bachelor, Oregon for a week of skiing. The season will wrap-up with a four day
ski trip to Copper Mountain,
Colorado in April.

They also offer adventure
trips. In October of 2017 PSC
went on a Casablanca Cruise.
PSC is going to Egypt and Jordan
in March of 2018 and in October
of 2018 the club is taking a Rhine
River Cruise. Other summer activities for the PSC include a
casino day, a Lake Powell House
Boat weekend, hikes, swim parties,

Scottsdale Sea & Ski Club,
(SS&SC), is an adult ski and social club. SS&SC has happy hours
every Friday evening. Their 20172018 ski trip schedule is on their
website. SS&SC is going to Salt
Lake City over the 2018 New
Year's holiday for their first ski
trip of the season. In January,
2018 they will also be joining the
PSC on their Annual ARIZONA
DAYS ski trip. SS&SC will wrapup the ski season with a ski trip
to Taos, New Mexico in March
of 2018. In July of 2017 SS&SC
went to Curacao Beach for a dive
vacation, followed by a September cruise to Alaska. SS&SC is
joining PSC on the Casablanca
Cruise in October of 2017. In
May of 2018 SS&SC is planning a
trip to Machu Picchu and in September, SS&SC is planning a Boat
and Adventure trip to Croatia.

Arizona Outdoor Travel Club,

(AzOTC), has changed their name
to Arizona Hiking and Travel
Club. AHTC is mostly a hiking
club, and they continue to have
hikes all year long. In the fall of
2017, AHTC will be doing a Bike
and Barge trip on the Danube
River. AHTC has about two
hikes every week of the year.
They sends out a weekly e-mail
to their members telling them
about the hikes and other activities happening during the week.

Sailing Adventure Club, (SAC),
which is a member of the Arizona Ski Council, is a social club
based in Phoenix, Arizona with
activities ranging from local sailing, and non-sailing events, to international sailing adventures.
Due to challenges finding someone to maintain the website and
newsletter, SAC moved towards
being a MeetUp group only. In
doing so, they have attracted
about 125 new members. SAC is
in the process of planning a sailing trip in the Bahamas. The club
is no longer charging dues, so
anyone can join via MeetUp.
Boeing Employee Adventure Club is a corporate club of
the Arizona Ski Council and continues their social schedule and
family events around town. Employees may contact www.boeing.com for more information
about recreation activities that
are planned!
