Henny Penny Corporation announced its approval as a global supplier of McDonald’s next generation fryers, known as “LOV” or Low Oil Volume fryers. The company partnered with McDonald’s to develop a fryer that would reduce total oil consumption significantly, providing McDonalds with a cost-effective solution for frying in non-transfat oil. Henny Penny’s LOV fryer reduces oil consumption through its innovative vat design, which requires significantly less oil than conventional fryers. Additionally, the LOV fryer includes new features such as automatic top-off and fast filtration, enabling operators to get up to twice as many days of quality-range oil use. Hobart and Baxter announced today that Hobart will be representing the Baxter brand of baking products, starting January, 2009. This collective offering will bring together Baxter’s premier baking brand with Hobart’s network of foodservice and food retail, sales, dealers and service representatives to deliver a more complete package of kitchen equipment. Production of Baxter equipment will continue at the company’s Orting, Wash. facility, while sales support will be handled by Hobart. In addition to independent servicers, the equipment will be supported by Hobart’s national network of nearly 1,700 factory-trained service technicians and 200 locations across the United States. Manitowoc Foodservice is pleased to announce the addition of Rick Showers to the marketing team as the director of product management for the walk-in division.
