" Whoop's 10-4 SCI is a one of a kind product squarely aimed at providing affordable, compact, easy-to-install coverage and capacity to mid-size commercial buildings with the least amount of carrier involvement resulting in the shortest time to completion. " for multiple-carrier signal sources. However, in most cases, the front-end still feeds the same, highly technical, expensive DAS. There is little decrease in size, cost, or complexity. WHOOP WIRELESS HAS A DIFFERENT AND BETTER APPROACH Whoop Wireless has taken a completely different approach. Whoop's 10-4 Small Cell Interface (SCI) drives an active DAS called a Multi-Sector Amplifier Array. The unaltered, low power cellular signal coming from the multiple small cells is fed via inexpensive RG-11 TV cable to the DAS where it is amplified by a separate micro amplifier at each antenna location. This produces a reliable, strong, and uniform cellular signal throughout the structure. This unique configuration enables enterprise venues to distribute coverage and capacity through multiple femtocell or small cell signals covering an area 10 times larger than the area a typical femtocell can cover alone. Additionally, Whoop Wireless' SCI permits small cells to be used exclusively, or in conjunction with, overthe-air channelized repeaters, which is highly useful and completely unique to Whoop. The SCI supports up to ten signal inputs (femtocells, small cells, over-the-air repeaters) and covers an area up to 250K square feet which can be divided into up to four coverage zones. Two SCI's can serve up to 500K square feet. Whoop Wireless' SCI input ports and graphical user interface (GUI) enable signal source capacity to be mapped to the specific coverage 16 CONNECTED REAL ESTATE | FALL 2017 zones, based on enterprise capacity requirements and available signal source capacity in much the same way as the newest, expensive systems used in million square foot venues. Whoop's innovative approach significantly lessens the inherent complexity that has plagued installers of small cells for BYOD projects. Whoop's 10-4 SCI is a one of a kind product squarely aimed at providing affordable, compact, easy-to-install coverage and capacity to mid-size commercial buildings with the least amount of carrier involvement resulting in the shortest time to completion. Whoop creates a big winwin all the way around for enterprise building owners and mobile operators. Whoop's new offering is an ideal middleprise DAS/small cell hybrid solution for BYOD applications.
