The Official 2008 RVers Guide to Florida - (Page 41) While you’re in FLORIDA, RV Friendly Signs look for these RV logos Certified RV Service Centers This logo, found on highway exit signs, will direct you to businesses that are not only RV Friendly but offer RVers so much more. Businesses, such as restaurants, hotels, attractions and fuel stations, displaying this logo offer RVers: • Large parking spots. • Plenty of overhead clearance. • Entrances and exits that accommodate larger vehicles. This program was approved thanks to the effort of the Florida RV Trade Association to make it easier for the RV traveler to get in and out of businesses that accommodate larger vehicles. So, as you travel our beautiful state, look for the RV Friendly logos that identify businesses that provide plenty of space for RVs. This logo recognizes RV dealers/service centers that meet certain criteria for providing the most professional and well-trained service for your RV. Businesses displaying this logo: • Must be an FRVTA member in good standing and adhere to the Code of Ethics. • Must have at least one RVIA Master Certified Technician employed. • Must have at least 80 percent of service technicians certified or in training for certification. • Must maintain a current Florida Propane Repair License and employ at least one qualifier. Seeing this logo will assure you that the dealer/service center provides the most professional and well-trained service available in the marketplace and are members of the FRVTA. For details about either program, call the FRVTA state office. IT’S TECHNICAL Training program grows while RV industry embraces service technology Training new RV technicians and upgrading the skills of current techs has long been a goal, and challenge, of the RV industry. RV customers demand quality service and the industry knows how vital customer satisfaction is to sustaining industry quality and growth. Recognizing that, the Florida RV Trade Association launched the RV Distance Learning Network (DLN) in January 2000. Through satellite feeds and high-speed Internet connections, the RV DLN broadcasts live technician training programs from the University of South Florida in Tampa to dealerships throughout the state, country and even Canada. Technicians now can stay at their dealerships and receive on-site, live, state-of-the-art training programs weekly through the year. Manufacturers and suppliers deliver advanced clinics and workshops on a variety of topics from Tampa. There is also an ongoing, 40-week Technician Certification Prep Course, sponsored by the RVIA, delivered weekly via the network to technicians planning to sit for their certification exam. The RV Distance Learning Network, an idea taken to reality, serves the RV customer through a process of continued quality improvement. RV service technicians at the dealership level know that life-long learning is a necessity and, thanks to the Distance Learning Network, training has become an ongoing process. Look for certified technicians as you visit dealerships and know they are receiving regular training to provide quality service to make your RV experience the best it can be. frvta.org 41 http://frvta.org
