Safra Family Lodge has been a welcoming refuge, free of charge, for more than 38,000 family caregivers from around the world. Located on the NIH campus, just steps away from the Clinical Center, the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge offers a home for families and loved ones of adult patients who are participating in clinical trials and receiving care. Gifts of all sizes play an essential role in this vital endeavor on behalf of those with serious illness and disease. Award-winning composer and musician Marvin Hamlisch returned for his third annual performance at the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge Holiday Concert in December. Hamlisch’s connection to the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge stems from his long friendship with Mrs. Lily Safra, who, along with the Edmond J. Safra Philanthropic Foundation, provided the principal private funding for its construction.
