Training Metrics & Evaluation
Key Findings
Determining quantitative metrics and providing results of training curriculum to stakeholders is critical for training & development organizations. Interestingly, only one-third of respondents have a department dashboard scorecard that account for a complete picture of projects, learning impact, and business performance. When results are shared, it often occurs after a large national/ regional meeting and the results are distributed to sales leadership. The majority of respondents also distribute training performance results after initial training via a written report to the trainee, supervisor or second level supervisor. Several methods and tools are utilized to measure effectiveness of training. Level 1 (Surveys) and Level 2 (Assessments) were said to be used by the majority of respondents for measuring the effectiveness of training organizations. Level 4 (ROI) is still minimally conducted. Additionally, a majority of respondents (63%) have a testing portal, and those that do, most (78%) have it integrated into their LMS.
