Tech Topics - Spring 2009 - (Page 13) ALUMNI HOUSE Association Wins Three CASE Awards The Alumni Association won three Awards of Excellence and advanced in district competition of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. The Georgia Tech Alumni Magazine and TECH TOPICS each won Awards of Excellence in their respective categories and were up for Grand Awards at the District III conference in Atlanta. The Burdell-Phoenix Dinner also won an Award of Excellence and was in contention for the Grand Award. The dinner was directed by Events manager Jessica Battista. Director of Events is Kara Allen. Managing editor of the Alumni Magazine and TECH TOPICS is Kimberly Link-Wills. Assistant editors are Van Jensen and Leslie Overman. The designer is Ryan Giusti. Joe Irwin, president of the Alumni Association, is publisher. VAN JENSEN Chick-fil-A Bowl Bash Even though the football team fell in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year’s Eve to finish off a strong first season under coach Paul Johnson, Jackets fans managed to have a fun bowl experience in Atlanta. More than 1,000 alumni and friends attended a pregame tailgate party hosted by the Alumni Association at the Georgia World Congress Center.
