She’s By Kimberly Link-Wills CLUB SPOTLIGHT Arizona Alumni Find Place in Sun T he Arizona Georgia Tech Club has not been deterred by its distance from the Atlanta campus. It continues to build camaraderie among Tech alumni and friends in both the greater Phoenix and Tucson areas — and points in between. The club planned and executed a meet-andgreet mixer in Scottsdale in late July that drew more than 50 people representing nine ACC universities. In addition to networking opportunities, the event included information on how alumni could get involved with intramural sports, including an Arizona-based ACC kickball league, and game-watching parties. The Arizona Georgia Tech Club again partnered with other ACC alumni and friends 12 for a banquet in the Diamond Club of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field in August to watch the baseball game against the visiting Atlanta Braves. Club president Michael Van Epp, CEE 03, said Georgia Tech has been well represented at the ACC alumni gatherings. “Georgia Tech has established itself as one of the stronger participants within the ACC group. With each event, we attract more and more alumni from our area, enabling us to build the bonds of a stronger Georgia Tech community.” To get involved with the Arizona Georgia Tech Club, visit its Web site at http://sitekreator. com/gtazalumni/main_page.html.
