GCSAA 2009 Conference Brochure - (Page 44) Networking Parks Located across the trade show floor, three parks provide the perfect places to relax, enjoy comfortable seating and meet with colleagues—all without leaving the exhibit hall. These parks will feature Internet kiosks presented in partnership with DuPont Professional Products, concession vendors, and ample seating. Make these parks a destination for gatherings with your facility team or peers, or for conducting quick meetings with exhibitors. The networking parks will be easy to spot on the trade show floor as each one is themed after one of the three host cities of the Golf Industry Show: Orlando, New Orleans and San Diego. Upon entering the parks, you may feel as though you’ve taken a mini-vacation as the sights, sounds and offerings are unique to each host city. The parks are your escape for a quick moment of rejuvenation before conducting more business on the trade show floor. People Mover Get a unique view of the Golf Industry Show by utilizing the people mover. Running down the side and back perimeters of the trade show floor, the people mover can help you navigate the show with ease and give you a grand tour of the floor. The people mover will operate during trade show hours. GOLF INDUSTRY SHOW Buyer/Seller Marketplace This area within the Exhibitor Business Lounge/Trade Show Management Office (booth 2071) on the trade show floor is a comfortable and semi-private space for you and your team to conduct brief business meetings with exhibitors or close sales away from an exhibitor’s booth. New Product Showcase Running the length of the main aisle at the center of the trade show floor, the New Product Showcase offers you a first glimpse at some of the most recent product introductions in the industry. This is the spot to see exhibitors unveiling their freshest innovations and latest technologies for golf course, facility and club management. Indoor Range The indoor range will feature a number of hitting stations and equipment manufacturers demonstrating new club, ball and simulator technologies. Stop by to test your skills or learn from swing and ball flight analysis technologies. You can also hone your short game skills on the putting greens provided by Golf Greens “Fore” U. In addition, Golf Greens “Fore” U will create a bocce court, an amenity that can be added to any facility with virtually no maintenance costs. Visit the indoor range with your friends and/or facility team and challenge them to this classic game that provides fun for all ages. Road to Riches (formerly the Solutions Challenge) Play the Road to Riches and be eligible to win daily cash prize drawings of $500 or the grand prize of $5,000, all donated by the Road to Riches sponsors. Formerly known as the Solutions Challenge, the Road to Riches is a new twist on an old favorite. The goal is still the same — check in at each kiosk on the trade show floor to learn about each of the Road to Riches sponsors and their most innovative products and services. New in 2009 — you will not have a scorecard to turn in. Your stop at each kiosk will be logged electronically with a quick scan of your badge. How to play: 1. Locate each of the 10 kiosks on your trade show map. 2. Tap your badge to the attached badge scanner to log your stop. Each time you stop at a kiosk, your name will be entered into a drawing for daily cash prizes of $500. Stop at each of the 10 kiosks throughout the three days of the trade show, and your name will be entered into the grand prize drawing of $5,000. The grand prize winner will be announced on Saturday afternoon. 3. The more kiosks you visit each day of the trade show, the more chances you have of winning a daily cash prize! Look for an informational piece about the Road to Riches in your credentials packet or pick one up in registration. Construction Project The Golf Course Builders Association of America, the American Society of Golf Course Architects, GCSAA and the Irrigation Association will be constructing a fairway and water feature in booth number 1639. This area will focus on water with emphasis on its efficient use and management. You will learn how both can be enhanced by design and construction techniques through a bird’s eye view of a drainage system, a cross-section of the fairway, and construction of ponds with waterfalls. Complementing the construction project will be presentations by some of the marquee names in golf course architecture, construction and renovation.
