International Attendee Hotel Rooms For optimal networking opportunities among international attendees, a hotel block has been arranged at the Astor Crowne Plaza ($163+tax per night). The deadline for making a reservation in this block is Dec. 12, 2008. A limited number of rooms are available, and these will be secured on a first-come, first-served basis. Deposit, Confirmation, Cancellation and No-Shows Deposit – New Orleans hotels require a credit card guarantee. The hotel has the right to charge the credit card for a one-night deposit. Some hotels will do this, while others will not. Acknowledgement – Golf Industry Travel will acknowledge each room reservation in writing within three weeks. When you receive it, check your arrival and departure dates, your room type and the name/address of the hotel — many hotels have similar names and addresses. You should also carefully review the hotel’s cancellation refund policy to avoid any cancellation penalty fees. Confirmation numbers – Hotel confirmation numbers are not available from Golf Industry Travel. If you need a confirmation number, call the hotel five days or less prior to your arrival date. WIN TICKETS! Everyone who purchases airline tickets through Golf Industry Travel will be entered into a drawing for two round-trip tickets for travel in the continental United States. The winner will be notified within two weeks after the 2009 GCSAA Education Conference and the Golf Industry Show. No-shows – Failure to check in on the scheduled date of arrival will result in the loss of your deposit and cancellation of your room for the remainder of the stay. Early check-out – All conference hotels assess early check-out penalties if you change your departure date once you have confirmed and signed for the dates of your stay upon check-in. Make sure you review your check-out date with the hotel when you arrive to avoid these penalties. Cancellation – If it becomes necessary to cancel your plans to attend, remember to cancel your hotel reservation. Note the following important dates: • Prior to Jan. 16, 2009 – Call Golf Industry Travel to change or cancel your hotel reservations. • Jan. 16 – 23, 2009 – Changes/cancellations cannot be processed by Golf Industry Travel or the hotel due to the final processing of rooming lists and changes. • Beginning Jan. 26, 2009 – You must call the hotel directly to cancel or make any changes.
