This 18-hole masterpiece is a pleasure to play 12 months a year. Overseeded wall-to-wall, the winter/spring golf package finds Cotton Creek looking its best. Featuring rolling hills, glistening lakes and well-positioned bunkers, Cotton Creek’s layout is challenging but fair, giving golfers of all skill levels a chance to card a good score while experiencing the beauty of Craft Farms. The course plays a little over 6,000 yards from the whites, 6,600 from the blues and for the long hitters, Cotton Creek’s gold tees present a layout over 7,000 yards. Framed by the natural beauty of Perdido Key, Lost Key is located between historic downtown Pensacola and the pristine sugar sand beaches of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Redesigned by the Arnold Palmer Design Group in 2006, the par-71 signature-designed championship course features the premier grass, SeaDwarf paspalum. From tee to green, the paspalum allows for the optimum in quality playing surfaces and green speeds. Each golf hole includes four sets of tees, and offers players of all skill levels a unique visual and strategic playing experience. Lost Key was the first golf course in Florida and the world to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. The project continues to protect the natural resources of the area while providing an excellent golf experience. Cypress Bend at Craft Farms www.craftfarms.com Peninsula Golf Club www.peninsulagolfclub.com The newest Craft Farms offering is the Arnold Palmer-designed Cypress Bend. This spectacular 18-hole layout is fairly wide open and a delight to play as it winds its way through rolling hills and numerous lakes. During the construction of Cypress Bend, attention was given to even the smallest detail – from staggered tee boxes at every hole to a challenging layout that includes a host of sprawling bunkers and glistening lakes. Cypress Bend was sodded wall-to-wall and overseeded in the winter, making the course lush and green year-round. Cypress Bend offers a full day of championship golf in a country club atmosphere. Set along beautiful Mobile Bay is one of Alabama’s most spectacular golf venues. Peninsula offers an impressive 27-hole championship golf course designed by Earl Stone. Boasting over 7,000 yards from the championship tees, this Alabama golf course provides a playable and enjoyable layout for golfers of all skill levels. Peninsula is also rich in nature – it is nestled beside the Bon Secour Wildlife Preserve and winds throughout live oaks, cypress and other natural vegetation native to the area. Playing in the Golf Classic for the first time was a great experience – not only for meeting new friends, but this was my first visit to the United States, and I played on some of the best courses I have seen in my life. It’s great to see firsthand what a good job superintendents here are doing for real and not on TV. — “ Colony Club Gutenhof, Perchtoldsdorf, Austria ” Sean Baxter, 73 Register at www.gcsaa.org/conference Photo courtesy of Peninsula Golf Club Photo courtesy of Craft Farms Photo courtesy of WCI Communities http://www.helenachemical.com http://www.helenachemical.com
