As the longest running and most popular of all
tournament events, the Golf Classic is a twoday flighted tournament open to all skill levels.
Featuring fun contests, prizes, trophies and
the coveted commemorative pewter plates,
the Golf Classic is a beloved component of the
GCSAA Golf Championships.
For the intense competitor who is ready
to make headlines, the GCSAA National
Championship is a 36-hole stroke-play event
open to the first 100 entrants with a verified
handicap index of 5.0 and below. This year's
tournament will once again put your game to
the test against the best in the business. An
overall champion as well as a senior champion
(age 50 and over) will be crowned.
The quota scoring system point values:
0 Double Bogey or worse
1 Bogey
2 Par
3 Birdie
4 Eagle
5 Double Eagle
Taking your point total for the round and
subtracting it from the quota for the round will
calculate the net score.

The reigning GCSAA champion, along with
champions from the last five years, will receive
an invitation to participate in the renowned
Trans-Mississippi Golf Championship, where
PGA TOUR professionals such as Jack Nicklaus,
Ben Crenshaw, Dean Beman and Bob Tway,
among others, have carried home the
championship trophy.
Chapter Team Competition
Fun Contests
If you are competing in the National
Championship or the Golf Classic, you can
also opt in to the Chapter Team Competition
to see which GCSAA-affiliated chapter holds
the best golfers. A gross and net winner will
be crowned with 75% of the entry fees being
paid back to the winning chapters. Form your
team strategically and take some cash home to
your chapter!
The following fun contests will be included
in the Four Ball, Shamble and Golf Classic
events, earning the winners a $50 GCSAA
gift certificate:
Entry fee is $20 per person. Registration of
chapter teams begins in December and
continues until the close of registration on
Friday, December 13. Each chapter team
may have five competitors with the best four
scores counting toward the total. All team
members must belong to the chapter they
are representing. Only one team member may
be a golfer with professional status, and only
one team member may be a GCSAA affiliate
member. A chapter may have more than one
team in the competition, but a competitor
may not participate on more than one
chapter team.
Hole-in-one prizes, including a 2014 Mid-Duty
Toro Workman, will be awarded on all par-3
holes in the Four Ball, Shamble, Golf Classic and
National Championship.

GCSAA GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
This event will use the point quota scoring
system, where a point quota for each round
is established by subtracting your verified
handicap index from 36. The maximum
allowable handicap index for point system
scoring is 30. If you have a handicap index over
30, you will be assigned the minimum of six
points per day.
