TECHNOLOGY HAS SIMPLIFIED OUR LIVES AND given us a litany of gadgets we didn't even know we needed until they became indispensable. We
talked to some of our favorite early adopters and discovered the latest and
greatest in geek gear that you might want to adopt yourself this fall.

VIZIO SMARTCAST 44-INCH 5.1 CHANNEL SOUND BAR
It's no secret that Vizio has become a powerhouse in the field
of home theater, combining both quality and affordability. Its
sound bar can easily connect to your display and turn those
tinny flat-screen speakers into a fully immersive 5.1 sound field
with a wireless subwoofer for extra deep bass and rear satellite
speakers that give you full surround sound. With its proprietary
app, you can use your mobile phone as a remote control and
play music directly to your sound bar.

GOOGLE HOME
Digital home assistants are about as rad as you can get these days, and other than the main computer of the starship
Enterprise, which hasn't been invented yet, there's no better digital assistant than Google Home. It's always there for
you with the voice command request, "OK, Google." It lets you enjoy streaming music from your phone or digital library,
access information about weather, traffic, finance and sports, or find out where the coolest restaurants are. You can also
control smart home devices like your Chromecast for streaming TV and movies or your Nest thermostat to set the perfect
temperature without getting out of your captain's chair. And unlike Scotty, you don't even need to pick up your mouse.

iPAD PRO
We've been big fans of the iPad tablet since it was first introduced by
Apple. However, the latest iteration of this perennial is the powerful
10.5 inch iPad Pro which features a new Retina display, ample storage for movies, music and presentations with 256GB of memory and
an upgraded camera that takes stunning 12 MP photos and 4K HD
video. With a Smart Keyboard that clips directly onto the display,
the iPad is the perfect travel companion for doing work or playing
movies and music, all of
which will prompt you
to leave your laptop at
home - or at least wander
around the house asking
your family to sign the

that allows you to write or

on the screen.
