cell batteries that powered the radio. As a byproduct, his daughter (my future wife) no longer had to clean the glass globes on the kerosene lamps. He said every day, while working in the field, he would make a mental note of how many poles the crews had erected that day versus how long it would be before they would get to his home. Another revelation: He had come to the conclusion that maybe his daughter had made a better choice for a husband than he initially thought.
