I loved the July 2010 Viewpoint by Paul Wood [see “Just a bunch of old men?” page 5]. We don’t learn the importance of history until it’s much too late. Even in our own families, we let the older ones die off without learning important facts that we later wish we had. Wood may have an answer to my question: When, how and why did America set up two parties to govern our country? We are one people, with one goal—what is best for America. These parties only fight and divide our country. How can people we pay big dollars to be so divided on what is best for our country? Can we not find common ground and become one America?
