Oakland Cemetery is the final resting
place of many of Atlanta's most important
figures and is the oldest major cemetery
in the city. The Historic Oakland Foundation has helped ensure that the cemetery's
gardens and monuments, like this angel
dedicated to the memory of James M.
Blackmon, remain accessible and relevant
today. (Photo by iStock.com/RoguePen.)
