Plentiful pumpkins

s sweater weather rolls in and the
leaves change color, our thoughts
turn to pumpkins. We love to
serve them up in tasty recipes, carve
jack-o-lanterns for Halloween and
find new, fun ways to incorporate
them into our fall decorations. Here
are few tips for adding a pop of
pumpkin to your décor.

Orange is a classic
Classic orange pumpkins set the
tone for autumn. Add a variety of
sizes of these pumpkins to entryways
and accent them with other classic
fall items: mums and crotons, hay
bales, cornstalks and other gourds.
Use tiny orange pumpkins combined
with pine cones, dried leaves, twigs
and cuttings from the garden to create beautiful fall tablescapes or mantle-top displays.

Get funky
Heirloom pumpkins are fun
and funky! Look for ones with unusual shapes-squat, uneven, lumpy
or ridged. They also come in great

colors, such as sunset red,
pale peach, grayish green
and white. Stake a few heirloom
pumpkins of varying sizes to a planter; accent with vines and moss to
create a unique fall topiary.

Make a planter
Turn your pumpkins into planters for a fun twist on your fall décor. Fill classic orange pumpkins
with cool-weather flowers (pansies
or snapdragons) and accent with fall
foliage (ivy, heuchera and ornamental cabbage), grasses and peppers.
Use white, peach or green heirloom
pumpkins and plant trendy succulents accented with moss for a more
modern-looking pumpkin planter.

Go glam
If your style leans more toward
glitter and glamour, try limiting your
color palette to ensure that your
fall décor ties in nicely with your
existing style. Stick to white pumpkins, or use pale peach and green
