The street is named after Eberhard Gerstel Sr., the company founder. The decision to stay in Mülheim an der Ruhr emphasizes our company’s longstanding ties with the city. A company with steady growth is faced with the challenge of finding room for the addition of new people and for the expansion of its manufacturing capacity. GERSTEL has been dealing with this welcome challenge for most of our 40 year history. Since 1998, GERSTEL has had double digit annual growth. In 1999, manufacturing was relocated from company headquarters to nearby Holger Gerstel and Eberhard G. Duisburg, Gerstel, Managing Directors of easing the the GERSTEL GmbH & Co. KG crowded conditions - at least for a while. Since 2000, the number of employees has doubled, increasing the challenge to accommodate many new colleagues. Adding to this, the expansion of the products and services portfolio into the fields of LC and LC/MS has increased the need for laboratory space. Our LC and LC/MS solutions are well placed in target markets that are developing extremely well for the company. GERSTEL today has a world-wide presence with succesful subsidiaires in the U.S., Japan and Switzerland as well as an international network of distributors spanning more than 70 countries. With increasing market demand for GERSTEL’s sample preparation solutions for GC, GC/MS, LC and LC/MS, growth has accelerated. Staff has been added in all departments. After years of splitting up departments and remodeling existing buildings, we decided that it was time to build new, modern and efficient headquarters. We want to offer customers maximum performance well into the future, and this can only be done if our infrastructure can support further growth. The new GERSTEL headquarters have been designed to support and improve the work flow and operations at all levels. The facilities were planned based on extensive employee consultation with the help of seasoned business process experts and facility planning specialists. In order to have maximum efficiency, and best possible interaction between all departments and company personnel, three separate locations have now been reunited at No. 1 Eberhard-Gerstel-platz in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
