She lived and worked in Oregon for 10 years, including a few years in Prineville. She knew members of the Prineville Hotshot Crew who died in the Storm King Fire near Glenwood Springs in 1994. She moved here in 2000 to be closer to her sister in Denver and because she was ready for a new challenge.
