Glenwood Springs Official Guide 2008-2009 - (Page 17) guide to|Golf Glenwood Greens at a Glance With more than a dozen courses within 40-miles, golfing enthusiasts can enjoy a full week of golf in the roaring fork Valley without ever playing the same course twice! Here’s the nitty gritty on what locals say about some of the greens in the area: Got time for 9? Glenwood Springs Golf Club is a meticulous, mature 9-hole mountain course that slopes to the river. Lakota Canyon Ranch’s most exciting features include elevated tee boxes that on occasion drop 100 feet to the fairway. At Aspen Glen, the 18th green is placed perfectly among the flowing waters of the roaring fork river and is Colorado’s only natural island green. Battlement Mesa is a beautiful, mature course that is fair for all levels, yet long enough for a challenge. Ironbridge Golf Club is a top-notch true mountain course, where the drive up the canyon to the 10 tee box is worth the play alone.
