Thanks to a persistent dream, his wife and partner, Jeanne, and 30 volunteer cavers, Glenwood Caverns was reopened in 1999. It has been named one of the 10 Great Places to Go Underground by USA today, and the Beckleys have been honored as Glenwood Springs Citizens of the Year, Colorado Tourism Business of the Year and Glenwood’s Bosco Tourism Business of the Year. They live in Glenwood Springs with sons Shane, 9, and Stenar, 7. Where did the Beckleys meet? They met at a scuba diving class in Denver.
