He owned a German deli in Denver but longed to live in the mountains, so purchasing Rosi’s Little Bavarian Restaurant in 2000 was a dream come true. His daughter, Jenn Conner, does all the baking at the restaurant. Grandsons Cody, 5, and Colton, 4, are frequent patrons. How important is John’s Bavarian heritage? Growing up in Denver t he Bava ria n , Historical a nd Cultural Preser vation Society was a big pa r t of his life. Members got toget her ever y Saturday for Bava ria n folk da ncing a nd food. Where did he learn to cook? From his Mom – she ra n t he kitchen at t he Society a nd cooked goulash a nd brats ever y Saturday night, while his Da d butchered t he meat. How did he discover Glenwood Springs? He hea rd from Rosi’s son (who belonged to his Germa n club) t hat t he resta ura nt was for sale a nd decided to “seize t he oppor tunity” to live in t he mountains. Who taught Jenn to bake?
