Glenwood Springs Official Guide 2008-2009 - (Page 78) guide to|hospital Dr. Robert ”Bob” Derkash Dr. Robert “Bob” Derkash was raised in Greenwich, CT but fell in love with Colorado when he attended a Youth Camp in Buena Vista while in high school. He later attended the University of Colorado where he met his wife of 37 years, MJ. His medical studies and career took him to Connecticut, Cleveland, San Francisco and even Sitka, Alaska. But his love for the mountains brought him back to Colorado in 1980 when he joined Orthopedic Associates. For the past 28 years he and his family have been active in most of the community’s recreational and civic activities. The Derkashes have four children. When did Bob decide to go into medicine? His second gra de a utobiography predicted t hat one day he would become a bone surgeon in a small town.
