Betty Crocker Holiday Cookies 2007 - (Page 71) great for gift giving Snowy Bonbons Prep Time: 1 Hour 40 Minutes Start to Finish: 2 Hours 10 Minutes Servings: 40 cookies CookieS 1½ ½ 1 ⁄3 3 ½ ½ cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour cup butter or margarine, softened cup powdered sugar tablespoons milk teaspoon vanilla package (7- or 8-oz size) almond paste Almond FroSTing 1 cup powdered sugar ½ teaspoon almond extract 4 to 5 teaspoons milk deCorATion Edible glitter, white candy sprinkles or coarse sugar 1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat flour, butter, 1 ⁄3 cup powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk and the vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon, until well blended. Cut almond paste into ½-inch slices; cut each slice into 8 pieces. 2. Shape 1-inch ball of dough around each piece of almond paste. Gently roll to form ball. On ungreased cookie sheets, place balls about 1 inch apart. 3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set and bottoms are golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. 4. In small bowl, mix frosting ingredients with spoon until smooth. Dip tops of cookies into frosting. Sprinkle edible glitter over tops.
