4 M 40 GRAND JUNE sure By Karen HugHes Adults are getting younger all the time y grAndson Tye Turned 4, and overnight he grew up. He and his younger brother came over for a bit of babysitting. Our son, Matt, brought in the diaper bag and set it on the chair. Hugs were exchanged, and the dog and cat were chased and petted. Then, Tye dug into the diaper bag and carefully took everything out and set it on the ottoman. As soon as the bag was emptied, he began putting the stuff back while listing every item. “We have three diapers for Cooper, one box of wipes, two bags of fruit snacks, a bag of Goldfish crackers, Cooper’s epi pen—he’s allergic to peanuts—a pacifier, and an Indiana Jones figure. Just let me know if you need anything. I’ll be glad to get it for you. I’m 4, you know.” A few days later, my husband, Ronnie, and I started putting a bookcase together. Half the pieces were scattered over the floor in my office, and all the screws, nails, dowels and cams were organized in piles on a sheet of cardboard in the middle of the floor when Matt (and Tye) arrived to help us move an armoire. Ronnie and Matt lifted the armoire with ease, but it was too big to get down the stairs, much less make the turn on the landing at the bottom. First, it was wedged in tight.
