Never a dull moment?

s I write this, 2017 is entering the home stretch. Though
much can still happen before the ball drops in Times
Square, I am already not missing this year.
Mother Nature has wreaked havoc from coast-to-coast and
beyond. As of this writing, my two youngest grands are close to
raging wildfires in California.
The good news and the bad is that technology delivers news
24/7 and some of it is hard to digest. But tech is here to stay and
will play a role in the future for all of us. As such it's imperative
that we teach our grandkids the joys of face-to-face connections.
Nothing beats the loving feeling of a real life hug, right?
However, it is ever-evolving and like it or lump it, technology
will play a dominant role in the future world of our grandchildren. Lest they become cyborgs, we should demand face-to-face
relationships with lots of love and hugs and talk and touch and
experience, so our grandkids may know that virtual reality is not
real.
How about our cover girl? This skydiving grand is living the
GRAND life and helping kids with cancer! Plus, in this issue we
have a fabulous 'over fifty' fashionista, a world traveling grandmom, a granddad who discovered the magic of fairies and much
more.
Despite the many challenges to the world and my sanity, I'm
profoundly grateful for so much, beginning with our GRAND
contributors; Debby Carroll, Cheryl Harbour, Karen Rancourt,
Bob and Judith Wright, Jerry Witkovsky, Pat Hanson, and Dan
Nessel. and the many grandparents who share their inspirational
stories with us.
On behalf of our GRAND team, we hope your holiday season
is filled with good health, family and friends, and that there will
be more peace on this earth.
