Well, summer is here, and, as the students are finishing up school, the temperature is consistently higher and the youth program goes into overdrive. Yep, that’s right, this summer is packed with exciting events and some opportunities to help our fellow man. There is, of course, the Appalachia Service Project. Our location has changed three times so far and I am fairly certain we are definitely going to Keokee in Lee County, VA. I can’t wait. How awesome was the ASP Spaghetti dinner? Be sure to congratulate Amy Heth, Crystal Shrum and Jan Hausman on a job well done. They were the ones who put it all together this year! Still following on the ASP train of thought, do not forget about the Car Wash on July 9th (9am - 2pm) at Oregon Dairy. If you want to donate towards the Car Wash, find a youth going on ASP! Most importantly, do not forget to get your car washed. Thank you so much for your towel donations! The youth are helping out with Camp Grandview (June 20th - 24th) again this year, which is awesome! To show them that we really appreciate their volunteer work, we will have an overnight starting on the last day of camp, and ending 10 am the next day. We have on tap for this summer several day trips and overnights, such as a day at Laser Dome (June 15th), our trip to Creation/Overnight (June 30th - July 1st), Rock Climbing (July 16th) and much more! If you are interested in knowing our full schedule for the summer, pick up a calendar found in the youth room, or check out the calendar on the Church website. I was thinking of great things the youth have done recently, and the first thing that came to my mind was the Maundy Thursday service. Did you see that? Well, if you didn't, it was a play, with the youth sitting around the table, playing a family, with Pastor Mike at the center as Grandpa Mike. They recounted the passion story, and there was singing, beautiful cello and piano music. The youth did an amazing job and I was excited at how many wanted to take part. Thanks to Pastor Andrea who wrote the script. Andrea, in the words of Tammy, you rock!
