Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study
Sign-ups for the "Becoming Disciples Through
Bible Study" course will begin Sunday, June 4
at the Hub. The course will run for 34 sessions
with time off for holiday breaks. Each session
will run for approximately two and a half hours
from 6:30-9pm. A special hour and a half
orientation session will be held in late August.
The first regular session will begin Tuesday,
Those who have taken this course have grown
spiritually and have gained a clearer idea of
what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Most
people who have accepted the challenge of
taking "Becoming Disciples Through Bible
Study" have said that it is well worth the effort.
If you are ready to move on to your next stage
of spiritual development and grow in your
knowledge of the Bible, this course is for you.
You will be taking this journey with several
others, providing the opportunity to develop
close spiritual relationships. The study will be
led by a retired United Methodist pastor who
has taught several of the Disciple Bible Study
classes in the past.
Each participant will need a Bible (New
Revised Standard Version or New International
Version is preferred), and a study manual.
There will be weekly assignments consisting of
Bible reading and work in the study manual. Inclass time will be spent in discussion and smallgroup work, as well as viewing a weekly video
presentation by a knowledgeable Bible scholar.

This course covers both the Old and New
Testaments with the goal of gaining an in-depth
understanding of the Bible and knowledge of
what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
The Bible reading is extensive and can be
challenging. You must expect to put forth time
and effort in reading and working toward
comprehension of the material.

Moving into the summer, the Young Adult group
is looking to explore, experience, engage, and
expand! From breakfasts to meditation workshops
to trivia nights and beyond, this group is designed
for people to connect with others and live into
Summer tends to be a busy season with family
trips, weekend getaways, and - of course - the
obligations of adulthood, but we will be meeting
throughout the upcoming months to savor the
