Making Gentle a Bruised World
Bibles and Pencils and Pens, Oh my!
This fall, Grandview is offering a variety of opportunities in Adult
Education to help bolster, examine, and explore faith. In addition to
the Searchers Class (Sundays at 9:15am in Zerr Hall) and the
Disciple Bible Study, we will be offering a 4-week series in October
called Wonder, Love and Praise: Sharing a Vision of the Church.
This is a document produced by the Committee on Faith and Order
designed to engage United Methodists in a study of our ecclesiology,
that is, how we as United Methodists understand what it means to be
the Church. By engaging in this study, we will learn more about who
we are, and what we expect to happen when we come together as a
body. As participants in this series, your work and feedback will help
to create a refined version of the Wonder, Love, and Praise
document for the 2020 General Conference. The group will meet
Monday evenings in October to watch a brief video and discuss the

We are equally excited to begin Sunday School with many new things to share!
* We are beginning a new class for 1-2nd grade students led by Jessica Kahler. A three-year member
and parent of 2 elementary students, Jessica has experience teaching both Kindergarten and 2nd
* We will begin inviting all children to come to 9:30am worship for the opening songs and
children's message. After this, children will be led downstairs to their 3 classrooms for Sunday
school. This includes the PS/KG class. Preschool/KG parents should pick up their child in the
classroom. Older students will meet parents in the Gathering Space after worship.
* Parents, kids, and teacher will share breakfast together after Sunday School at 10:30am on Sunday,
September 17 in Zerr Hall. This will give families an opportunity to hear about the different classes,
ask questions of the teachers, and get to know one another a bit more, too.
