United Methodist Women Update
Worship on October 29 as we celebrate All
Saints and also the 500th anniversary of
Reformation Day. The Rev. Newell
Embley, a retired Lutheran pastor, will
participate in a dialogue sermon with me
Attend the November 5 Wesley Concert,
featuring congregational singing and choral
settings of Wesley hymns.
Prayerfully and imaginatively reflect on
what God is calling the Body of Christ-i.e.
the Church-to do and be today.
Due to popular demand, UMW is selling the
popular Rada Cutlery this fall. The sale runs
through October 29, and orders will be placed in
early November. Catalogs are available at the Hub.
Forms and directions for the sale are included in
each catalog. Feel free to share with family and
friends and do some early Christmas shopping! All
profits go to support UMW mission work for
women, children, and youth.
Pecans, mammoth halves and small pieces, in 1lb.
bags, will be sold again this fall with proceeds going
to UMW. The price of a bag is $12. The pecans
coming to Grandview are from a new crop and
have not been sitting on store shelves for an
extended period of time. Network with friends and
family so the sale can be successful. A bag makes a
wonderful hostess gift. A sign-up sheet will be
located at the Hub in mid October. There are 7 bags
of pieces left from last year's sale for $10 a bag on a
first come basis. Remember, pecans stay fresh
when frozen for two years and can be thawed and
frozen over and over without harm.
Boehm's Chapel Apple Festival
Boehm's annual Apple Festival will be held on
Saturday, October 7, 9am-3pm, rain or shine, on
the grounds of Boehm's United Methodist Church
on Willow Street. The Apple Festival is a yearly
event to benefit Boehm's Chapel. Grandview
contributes apple breads to the festival. The apple
bread recipe and added information about the
festival can be found at the Hub. Breads can be
delivered to the church on Friday, October 7,
before 2pm, or brought to the festival on Saturday
morning no later then 10am. The Apple Festival is
a fun family event and Grandview members are
encouraged to attend as well as bake.
Bow Making Session
Mark your calendars for Monday, November 13 at
6:30! Nancy Suter will be demonstrating and
teaching the art of bow making for those
interested. Cost will be minimal and participants
will go home with a beautiful Christmas bow ready
to be hung on ASP wreaths. Look for a sign up
sheet coming to the Hub in October.
Evening Inquirer's Class

ministries of Grandview Church? Join our

5:30-8:30pm. The class will include dinner, a tour
of the building, and information about what it

this session in no way obligates you to join our
church, although it is a precursor to membership.
Sign up at the Hub or talk to Kirstin ShromRhoads. Babysitting is available upon request.
