THE MESSENGER NOVEMBER 2017 United Methodist Women News Pecan Sale UMW is selling pecans, both mammoth halves and pieces, in one pound bags. Each bag is $12.00. There are sign up sheets located at the HUB. Pecans will be available for pick up after each service on Sundays, November 5 and 12. Pecans coming to Grandview are from a new crop and have not been sitting on store shelves for an extended period of time. Pecans stay fresh when frozen for two years and can be thawed and frozen over and over without harm. Money made from this sale supports UMW's pledge to the district. UMW Thank Offering United Methodist Woman are asked to bring their Thank Offering to church on November 19. Eudora Roseman, UMW Treasurer, will be accepting boxes throughout November. Empty boxes and stickers for making your own bank for next year will be available at the Hub during the later Sundays in November. Annual District Meeting The annual UMW District meeting was held in Lititz in late September. Again this year, our unit was given a Gold Award. Grandview UMW receives this award for our consistency in meeting goals in the many areas that comprise UMW. One area is the pledge we send to the district treasurer. Thanks goes to the generous women at Grandview who pledge each year and to the congregation for supporting our fund raising efforts throughout the year. Any woman interested in contributing to our unit with a donation or pledge should contact Eudora Roseman. New UMW Circle Do you want to connect with UMW? Shannon Weltner is forming a new UMW Circle that will meet on Saturday mornings so as to avoid scheduling conflicts from the work-week.
