Authentically reminiscent of a 19th-century town, Hastings boasts over 60 buildings on the National Register. The LeDuc Historic Estate, a Gothic Revival mansion, is open for tours and special events throughout the year. In September, for one weekend, Civil War history comes to life; in October a harvest haunting spooks the place; and in December, the estate is decorated for the holidays and special brunches are offered. Enjoy a day of boating on the Mississippi River as brilliant fall colors adorn the surrounding bluffs or squeeze in a round of golf before the season ends at an area course. Historic Hastings’ Saturday Night Cruise-Ins begin in June and continue every other weekend into October. You can appreciate the charm of our downtown while viewing the polished chrome on hundreds of classic cars. In October, the St. Croix Valley Apple Fest offers a variety of fun for all ages. Bring your family and friends and spend the day finding that perfect pumpkin, frolicking through a corn maze, picking apples or taking a hayride. In the lush Hiawatha Valley of the Upper Mississippi, the Alexis Bailly Vineyard was the first to make all its wine from Minnesotagrown grapes. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the vineyards, bring a picnic lunch, play bocce ball, sample and purchase the wines.
