Grinding Journal - Summer 2007 - (Page 15) Summer 2007 Walter has been making machines for Europe and Asia at their Czech facility since 1995 Fanuc control coming too The change to Czech production corresponds to the introduction of the Fanuc 310i control machine to Walter’s Helitronic Power and Mini Power tool grinders. Other models will follow over time. Customizing remains in the US Although the machines will arrive essentially complete from the Czech plant, Walter retains the ability to customize the machine and add special options in Virginia. Plus Walter’s extensive telephone support and field service remains in Virginia and their other offices in North America. An automated inventory and parts handling system contributes to production efficiency and quality Thanks to Daniel Rein (left, an intern from the Technical College in Reutlingen, Germany) and Mike Mancuso, United Grinding Virginia built a complete Fanuc control for training and diagnostics before the first such machine arrived.
