Here are the winners in the General Purpose Web Site category: GENERAL PURPOSE WEB SITE (pop. greater than 200,000) Winner: eFlorida.com (Enterprise Florida Inc.) The eFlorida.com Web site is an excellent example of a Web-centric economic development marketing effort that helps brand Florida for innovation. The Web site is a robust, informative and user-friendly resource about Florida’s business environment and industry strengths that includes concise narratives, relevant news and statistics, in-depth analysis, and vivid maps, as well as engaging multimedia testimonials. In addition to the main site, which has about 2,000 HTML pages, eFlorida.com has 15 international native-language sites. GENERAL PURPOSE WEB SITE (pop. 50,000-200,000) Winner: Denton Economic Development Partnership, Denton, TX The Denton Economic Development Partnership site, DentonEDP.com, is a comprehensive Web site with more than 120 pages of information about Denton for both the general public and site selectors evaluating Denton as a potential site for a business location project. GENERAL PURPOSE WEB SITE DESIGN (pop. 50,000-200,000) Winner: Economic Development Board of Blount County, TN The Blount County Economic Development Board serves as the economic development agency for the cities of Alcoa, Maryville and Blount County, TN. It is one of four organizations that are co-located and share staff and facilities: Blount County Chamber, Economic Development Board, Smoky Mountains Convention Bureau and the Chamber Foundation.
