GSDBA 2009 Business Resource Directory - (Page F) F SAN DIEGO’S LGBT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE The Greater San Diego Business Association (GSDBA) is San Diego's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and community-supportive chamber of commerce. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating mainstream acceptance of diversity within our society by providing opportunities for LGBT and community-supportive GSDBA businesses to succeed region wide. The Association offers networking, business enhancement opportunities, social activities and advocacy relating to business. With 800 members, GSDBA in 2009 celebrates 30 years of building community through business. One of the largest specialty chambers in the county, GSDBA is the second largest gay, lesbian and supportive chamber in the nation. GSDBA prides itself on outreach to other business chambers and to society at large. In 2000 GSDBA was the first LGBT chamber in the nation to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the US Small Business Administration, recognizing GSDBA’s status as a minority business association. GSDBA is a supporting member of the San Diego Hispanic Chamber’s Diverse Emerging Vendor Outreach Program and partners with the Asian Business Association in offering business training opportunities. GSDBA is also proud of its partnership with and support of community nonprofit service organizations. A founding member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), GSDBA takes an active role in national level advocacy efforts and programs to meet the needs of small businesses. Every GSDBA member is automatically a member of NGLCC, having access to financial, procurement and advocacy programs. GSDBA works to unify and assist other LGBT chambers in the Pacific region by sharing information and promoting the growth of small chambers. Networking, networking, networking. GSDBA sponsors seven highly successful Business Networking Groups that significantly increase business for participants. Eight to ten Mixers a year, each attended by more than 200 members and guests, also make networking fun and effective. And of course, this highly effective Business Resource Directory with a print run of 30,000 and monthly distribution to more than 100 locations spotlights member businesses and promotes them county-wide. The diversity within the Association is our strength. Membership in GSDBA is a powerful choice.
